UFOs - Historical Paintings

Historical Artwork and UFOs is a puzzling and engrossing gallery of historical paintings and woodcuts that seem to show "modern" UFOs. Definitely worth a look.

This painting is called "The Madonna with Saint Giovannino". It was painted in the 15th century by Domenico Ghirlandaio (1449-1494) and hangs as part of the Loeser collection in the Palazzo Vecchio. Above Mary's right shoulder is a disk shaped object. Below is a blow up of this section and a man and his dog can clearly be seen looking up at the object.

"The Annunciation" painted by Carlo Crivelli in 1486 on display in the National Gallery in London.A familiar disk shaped object is shining a beam of light through the house wall and down onto the top of Mary's head. Much activity is going on in this painting, besides people pointing ~ filled with cryptic symbolism, the meanings lost to modern researchers.

These two objects are from part of a fresco entitled "The Crucifixion" and was painted in 1350. They are located above the altar at the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo, Yugoslavia.

A book entitled “The Alien Chronicles” by Matthew Hurley suggests that UFOs really does exist, even during the Renaissance. Saucer-like images that appear on the sky behind several religious paintings points to some new theory that Christianity is somehow influenced by these Aliens that came to earth during the early years of Christianity

Alien Chronicles Compelling Evidence For UFOs and Extraterrestrial Encountersin Art & Texts Since Ancient Timesby Matthew Hurley

An enthralling journey through the past to a new vision of the UFO phenomenon. Not since Jacques Vallee's legendary Passport to Magonia has an author tackled the fact that UFO sightings and close encounters have been a part of human history for millennia with such expertise. This book is an absolute must for anybody who's curious about unexplained phenomena.A major addition to the field of UFO research.
Using over 150 images, Matthew Hurley takes us on a journey into the past, uncovering hidden details found in many texts and historical artworks. From the cave art of our indigenous ancestors¹, through to the religious art of the Renaissance, we are shown a plenitude of evidence for Œstrange beings', UFOs and other historically recorded 'alien encounters'. In a methodical order and with academic gusto, The Alien Chronicles presents a strong case for the visitation of extraterrestrials throughout known history. At the same time, the book challenges both anthropological and psychological explanations for UFO phenomenon, while presenting a 'portfolio' of paintings and photographs that would have any serious investigator racing back in time - to every continent and every era. This book is nothing short of a major revolution in how we view the world and our history.
